NOTE — The door will close for the start of confidential group discussions at 7:15
Grief and anxiety go hand in hand. We can feel that something is wrong long before we can understand what is wrong. But we cannot fix something that we don’t understand. Unresolved grief is felt as an anxiety.

Grief is not always a Behavioral Health Concern. Complex grief is. Losing someone through substance use can burden grief with anger, guilt, deep pain, and sometimes even shame. There is no cost for help through peer support groups. Peer support is not the same as clinical counseling, but peer support can help you find more help if you need it.
The East Bay Recovery Center offers a peer support group for those who have lost simeone tgrough substance use. We meet tuesday evenings at 7:00 sharp * at the center. Stop by and see if we can help..
* The meeting door must close at 7:15 so that the group can then talk together confidentially.
Grief is an evolving pain. We need to discover how to carry the pain well as our grief changes. Our unique experience can isolate us, and we can become lost in our silent sorrow. Sharing experiences and approaches for remembering loved ones and rediscovering ourselves helps us and others navigate through loss.
This meeting is for friends and family who have lost loved ones through substance use. Many grief support groups lack experience in our form of loss and cannot truly understand us.
Tom Flanagan will facilitate along with occasional guest co-facilitators at 7:00 PM on every Tuesday [CHECK calendar for possible cancelations]. We will meet in the private conference room of the East Bay Recovery Center at 31 Railroad Avenue in Warren, RI. If the group decides that it would like to schedule more frequent meetings, we will find a way.
